The state film awards were distributed on Saturday. The chief minister making last-minute changes in the ceremony asking the organisers to place the awards in a table and actors taking the awards from there has set off a controversy. Criticising the move, many artists including producer Suresh Kumar has lashed out at the government and chief minister.

Now actor Hareesh Peradi has come up with a new recommendation on how to keep the award free of the virus. The actor’s jibe comes in his Facebook post. He said that as the award was touched by many it is better to cleanse it with soap water before placing it somewhere at home to exhibit.

“For those who took the awards from the table. Before coming into your hands those awards might have been touched by many… therefore please cleanse your award in soap water before exhibiting them in some prominent corners in your home...beware...break the chain….,” he wrote in Facebook.
