THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary A Vijayaraghavan came to the fore against the Muslim League. He accused the League of seeking social polarization against economic reservation of the forward classes.

‘The CPM asked whether the communal and political ties created by the UDF in the local body elections will continue. Instead of replying, the Congress is branding those who asked questions as communalists,’ said Vijayaraghavan. He added that CPM's criticism that the Congress is giving up its policy for communal forces is sincere.

Vijayaraghavan said that strengthening minority communalism in the name of opposing Hindu communalism would strengthen the BJP. He added that he was opposed to religious and political divisions. The state secretary had earlier alleged that the Congress leaders had gone to Panakkad to strengthen the religious, fundamentalist, religious and political alliances.
