LUCKNOW: A man was arrested for allegedly beating his wife to death over a minor scuffle. The incident happened in Wazidpur village of Baraut in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh.

The victim, identified as Neelam, was bludgeoned to death using the handle of a tap.

Neelam had married Dheeraj five years ago. After the marriage, the couple used to fight often.

On a fateful day, after both involved in an argument, Dheeraj allegedly removed a tap and used it to beat his wife. The victim died on the spot itself.

Hearing screams, the neighbours and other locals reached the couple's house and caught hold of the accused husband and handed him over to the police.

Circle Officer (CO) Alok Singh said the victim's body was sent for post-mortem and the accused was arrested.

Police are further investigating the matter, the official said.
