NEW DELHI: The centre has decided to send an expert team again in the wake of Covid-19 caseload increasing in the state. Kerala has the largest number of Covid patients. The delegation to Kerala will be led by a senior official of the union health ministry. The union health ministry said the team will be in charge of intensifying Covid prevention activities in collaboration with the state health department.

The team includes experts from Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi and the Regional Office of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Thiruvananthapuram. Apart from Kerala, the central government will send a special team to Maharashtra also. According to the Union Ministry of Health, 70 per cent of Covid patients in the country are currently in Kerala and Maharashtra.
