KOZHIKODE: Yusuf Padanilam, a member of the national executive panel of the Youth League, came to the fore alleging that leaders including youth league state president P K Firoz misappropriated funds collected by the youth league to help the families of Kathua and Unnao victims. Yusuf alleged that they swindled Rs 48 lakh collected and when Hyderali Thangal’s son questioned this, he was humiliated in the party. This serious allegation was raised at the press meet convened in Kozhikode.

Yusuf said the matter was conveyed to the Youth League and national leaders of the Muslim League many times but no action was taken. Sabir Gaffar, the national president of the Youth League, resigned after action was not taken on it. Yusuf said there are attempts to oust Hyderali’s son from the party for questioning the corruption. Yusuf said that he is abandoning all party ties as he doesn’t want to work with the corrupted ones.
