KANNUR: Police case registered against opposition leader Ramesh Cheninithala’s Aishwarya Kerala yatra for violating the covid 19 protocol. The police cases are registered for the undue rush witnessed in Taliparamba and Sreekandapuram. Marking the conclusion of the programme in Kannur, a large crowd of people participated in the programme violating the pandemic protocols, on the basis of which the police registered the case.
Police have taken cases against 26 UDF leaders including DCC president Satheesh Pacheni. Apart from UDF leaders, the case on protocol violation has been also taken against 400 other familiar persons. Criticising the government’s move, Tariq Anwar, AICC secretary and opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has issued statements.
Tariq Anwar asked whether the covid protocol is only applicable to Congress party. He also added that the case is politically motivated. Meanwhile, Ramesh Chennithala has said that the police action on Aishwarya Kerala Yatra comes as the government is concerned over the success of UDF’s programme. “The programme will not be disturbed even if 4,000 cases are registered against UDF workers and if any case needs to be taken then first it should be taken against the state cabinet ministers,” he said.
