THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been decided in the state cabinet meeting has decided to bring the Christain Nadar community under reservation. With this, the entire Nadar community will come under OBC list. Until now, the Hindu Nadar Community and SIUC received the benefits of reservation. Other Christain Nadar groups have also demanded reservation on similar lines. The government took the decision considering this plea. The cabinet meet has decided to extend those PSC lists, the tenure of which will end this month, by another six months. The cabinet meet has also decided not to increase the age of retirement.

Extension of expiry dates of PSC lists has been a long pending demand of youth organisations and job seekers. Earlier, they have also demanded the extension of rank lists which will be expired in the coming months.

The cabinet meet has regularised 110 temporary employees in C-DIT. The reports said those staff who have completed 10 years of service will be regularised. The government took the decision without considering the protest and opposition of job seekers and other youth organisations on regularising temporary workers sidelining PSC appointments.

The meet which also recognised the pay commission report appointed a three-member panel to submit recommendations after studying the report. The panel will be headed by finance secretary and report should be submitted within a month. Revised salary will be given on the basis of the report. The panel has also decided to implement the revised salary scale in health department. The new scale is implemented considering the commendable services of health professionals during the pandemic period.
