THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V K Prashanth MLA responded on the speculations strengthened that he will be shifting from his constituency Vattiyoorkavu to Kazhakoottam. V K Prashanth himself is expected to be the LDF candidate in Vattiyoorkavu. In the meanwhile, there was an active campaign that Prashanth would contest from Kazhakoottam.

‘I’ll contest in the place where my party asks me to. If they ask me not to contest, I will be out from the fray. Things are decided by the party. The party asked me to contest from Vattiyoorkavu when I was serving as the mayor. Our mission is to obey all that,’ he said.

Prashanth said the victory got in Thiruvananthapuram last time is expected to happen again. Prashanth added that there is a possibility of some constituencies, including Nemom coming to the Left Front.

Vattiyoorkavu was known in Kerala politics as the constituency of the UDF. Bypolls were held after K Muraleedharan, who won from the constituency in 2016, became Vatakara MP. In the bypolls held, V K Prashanth, the then Thiruvananthapuram Corporation mayor, overthrew the UDF and seized the constituency for the LDF.
