THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet has directed the secretary-level committee to look into the implementation of the eleventh pay commission report except in the health sector. The committee, convened by the Additional Chief Secretary for Finance, will submit its report within a month.

In the health sector, the scale specifically recommended by the Commission will be implemented. The commission has also decided to pay the revised salaries and allowances from April. The revised dearness allowance will be implemented from July 1, 2019 and the allowances recommended by the Commission from March 1, 2021.

The committee members are the Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms and the Principal Secretary, Department of Public Administration.

The ministerial sub-committee was tasked to study the implementation of the normal pay commission report, but this time it was left to the secretary-level committee. A detailed order will be issued after scrutiny by the committee on the scales recommended by the Pay Commission in non-health sectors, career advancement scheme, etc.

Renewal of pension will be decided after considering the report of the Finance Department.

The pay commission submitted its report to the government last Friday.
