THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The new footages of a bike borne team snatching a teacher’s gold chain in broad daylight is out. A 32-year-old woman riding on a scooter was robbed of her gold chain of 12 sovereigns by a bike borne snatchers at Ambalathara in the capital city. The incident happened last evening at 3.45 pm. The team wearing a helmet snatched the chain of Preetha Remya, a native of Venganoor and a teacher of LP section of Karthika Thirunal Higher Secondary School in Manacaud. The incident occurred in front of a furniture shop near Karimbuvila on Ambalathara-Thiruvallam Pazhaya Road.
It happened when she was returning home from school. Two in a Pulsar bike was behind her when she was entering the bypass. They overtook her on the left side and then the one who was riding pillion snatched her chain. She soon fell on the road after losing control. She has been admitted at a private hospital after she sustained injuries on her face. The CCTV footages obtained from the shops nearby showed that they were riding Pulsar NS bike, buy the number of the bike was not clear. Poonthura inspector B S Sajikumar and sub inspector Anoop reached the spot and examined. A case has been registered on the complaint of the teacher.
