PALAKKAD: Ninita Kanicherry, wife of former MP M B Rajesh has responded on the controversy over appointments in the Kaladi university. Ninita has alleged that there is a plot to sabotage the rank list by raising allegations against her. “Initially I didn’t respond as I knew that I wasn’t the final target of the controversy. I have also received the letter sent by interview board members to vice-chancellor via Whatsapp,” she said.

“I knew that I’m not the final target of the controversy. But all these issues will also affect me. Baseless allegations are being raised against me. I was confused about whether to join the job as the university was very far off from my home. It was at this time that certain purported attempts were made to remove me from the rank list. With this, I have decided to take up the job,” Ninitha said, adding that women are not known under her husband’s address and they have a life of their own.

“The photos being surfaced on the television channels, along with the news is that of the rank lists which was published seven years ago. This rank list has no basis for university appointments. I’m not saying that I’m better than others. I have asked the university to make a thorough enquiry about the ongoing allegations,” Ninitha said. She also added that her rank is not 212 and showing concealing her original rank is wrong.
