THRISSUR: It has been decided to conduct this year’s Thrissur pooram under the covid 19 protocol in the wake of the rapid spread of the pandemic. The temple authorities have also decided to form a special panel for this purpose. Depending upon the rate of transmission, it will be decided on what expanse the pooram will be conducted and the number of people who could witness it in Thekimkadu ground.

This time the pooram will be conducted under strict norms. The customs will be performed as per the covid 19 protocol and steps will be taken to reduce people’s participation to the maximum extent possible. A special committee will be formed for this purpose. In every two weeks, the committee will be convened and the prevailing situation will be evaluated. The meet held today decided to take the final decision on March-end. Paramekavu and Tiruvambadi factions have decided to take decisions as per regulations imposed by the government. Along with this, a pooram exhibition will also be conducted.
