THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Over 11 percent Keralites, aged 10 years and above, showed evidence of past exposure to COVID-19 in the ICMR's third serosurvey, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. The survey states that this rate is lower than the national average.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) third national serosurvey was conducted between December 17 last year and January 8.
As per the survey, over 21 percent of the country's population showed evidence of past exposure to Covid-19 while only 11.6 percent Keralites showed evidence of past exposure to the virus.
In Kerala, the third phase of sero surveillance study was conducted in Thrissur, Ernakulam and Palakkad districts. 1244 antibody tests were performed.
