THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a move to provide relief to around 3500 teachers who have been appointed since 2016 but yet to receive a salary, the state government has issued an order to approve appointments of aided school teachers. Appointment of protected teachers who have lost their posts has also been assured. Appointment to nearly 500 non-teaching posts will also get approval.


Approval has been given to appointments made by managements in schools that agree to hire protected teachers from the teacher bank. Appointments in those schools with no current vacancies will also be approved if the schools agree through an affidavit to appoint protected teachers for future vacancies. an affidavit states that if there is no current vacancy, a protected teacher can be appointed for future vacancies. The terms of the order will apply to those appointed from 2016-17 to 2019-20.
