THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The delegate cell and festival office of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) will start functioning from today. Film Academy Chairman Kamal will inaugurate the delegate cell at 11 am at the Tagore Theatre. The first pass will be given to Shiva Molly, a staff nurse at SAT Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram as a tribute to health workers who are leading the battle against COVID-19. Shiva Molly is the health worker who has served in the COVID ward for the most consecutive days in the district in the early stages of the pandemic.
The festival office will be inaugurated by Rani George, Principal Secretary, Department of Culture at 12.30 pm. Seven counters have been set up at the Tagore theatre for the distribution of passes. Delegates who test negative for the COVID can get the festival kit and pass from today using the certificate issued by the Academy. Academy Secretary Ajoy Chandran said the passes would also be available to those with COVID negative certificates who have undergone tests in labs or hospitals 48 hours before the start of the fair.
