PALAKKAD: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has alleged that a Kumbh Mela of illegal appointments have held in the state in the past five years of LDF rule. “This government has given nod for 1.5 lakh backdoor appointments. When consultancy and public sector appointments are added with this, it would be around three lakh. If UDF comes to power then such appointments will be put to an end permanently,” he said.

The opposition leader added that legislation will be brought up to criminalise the practice of not reporting vacancies to PSC. “The punishment will range between three months to two years. Temporary appointments will be made via employment exchange. Congress is fighting against illegal appointments through opposing M B Rajesh’s wife appointment. The board members, against whom the allegation of sabotaging rank list exists, are not Congress workers. Whistleblowers are made culprits,” he added.

“Those who tell the truth are silenced. To counter this, an idea of conspiracy is brought out by CPM. The party must reveal its stand on this. When minister Jayarajan talks about humanitarian grounds is it not applicable to other job seekers. UDF has never thought about stopping KIIFB. Even if UDF comes to power, KIIFB will be retained. But subsequent measures will be taken to solve procedural lapses,” the opposition leader said.
