THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM polit bureau member S Ramachandran Pillai has said that relevance of dialectical materialism is not lost. It is a novel ideological tool based on logic and science and it is practical at all times. Ramachandran Pillai also added that the current controversy is based on certain excerpts of M V Govindan Master’s speech and on Sabarimala issue, people’s opinion has the highest priority.

Meanwhile, rejecting the ideological stand of M V Govindan, CPI secretary Kanam Rajendran has lashed out at the senior CPM leader. “Dialectical materialism has never become irrelevant. If somebody says so, then Marxism has become meaningless,” Kanam Rajendran said.

“I don’t know whether Govindan Master has said dialectical materialism has become irrelevant. It is a methodological tool to observe the intricacies of society. It is a common strategy used by communists to evaluate social problems. It is not done as per the nation’s conditions. It is wrong to perceive materialism as faithlessness. Such opinions are made by certain mechanical materialists.” Kanam said.
