THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 3742 COVID-19 cases on Monday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 3379 persons developed the disease through contact including 264 cases without an identified source of infection. 72 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 27 health workers contracted the disease on Monday.
One UK returnee developed the disease in the last 24 hours. So far, 81 UK returnees have tested positive for the virus.
5959 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 65,414 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 16 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 3883.

In the last 24 hours, 47,927 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 7.81.
