Actress Rachana Narayanan Kutty, executive committee member reacted to the controversy that women members were not given due consideration during the inaugural function of the building for Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). She came forward with a Facebook post.

The post said critical intelligence should be good, but there is nothing wrong in thinking whether it was for a right thing. This performance can be called only as senseless.

Criticisms arose that women members of AMMA were not given place to sit. Male actors including Mammootty and Mohanlal were sitting and executive members like Rachana Narayanankutty and Honey Rose were seen standing next to them. The pictures of it had gone viral on social media.
