THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A clash erupted between the Youth Congress activists and police during a protest march to the secretariat on Tuesday evening. The Youth Congress activists staged a protest in solidarity with PSC candidates who have been staging a protest in front of the secretariat.

Police resorted to lathicharge and used water cannon against the protesters who burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Earlier on Tuesday, four PSC candidates had entered the building in front of the Secretariat and threatened to commit suicide while demanding an extension of the civil police rank list.
