NEW DELHI/KOZHIKODE: Will not part ways with the Pala seat, said Mani C Kappan. Kappan's response came shortly after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed his stand to NCP national leadership that the Pala seat will not be given up. He also rejected Left Front's promise to contest in Kuttanad if necessary.
In the wake of LDF clarifying their stand on Pala seat, other possibilities will be considered. Mani C Kappan said the decision would be announced soon. He hinted that a crucial decision would be taken on Friday.
Meantime, Minister A K Saseendran said an apt decision will be taken by the national leadership. I don’t know whether talks were held in giving any other seats. Joining the UDF is totally baseless and the national leadership had made this clear, he said.
Saseendran faction has claimed to have the support of ten district committees. Meantime, Kottayam and Alappuzha district committees are with Kappan. Apart from Pala, the CPM is also planning to take over Saseendran’s Elathur constituency.
