NEW DELHI: Mani C Kappan has hinted about leaving the Left Front after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed Praful Patel about the decision regarding the Pala seat. The party leadership will officially announce the decision on Friday, Kappan said. He said the national leadership would announce the party's stand.
Mani C Kappan said the offer to contest in Kuttanad is unacceptable. The CPM front did not show decency. He also questioned the justification of giving a seat to a party that lost in the elections. Kappan commented that trust is more important than the Pala seat. Earlier, in a meeting with Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel, the state leadership had decided not to leave the front if it gets the sitting seats. However, it is learned that the NCP had decided to leave the front after being denied the Pala seat.
Currently, there are only four district committees with Mani C Kappan. The other ten are with Minister AK Saseendran. But if Sharad Pawar decides in favor of Mani C Kappan, most district committees will stand with Kappan. Indications are that the party has decided to leave the front as the NCP is on the verge of losing not only Pala but many other seats.
