KOCHI: A turning point in the cheating case against actress Sunny Leone. The complaint of Shiyaz Kunjumohammed, a native of Perumbavoor, mentioned that she cheated him an amount of Rs 39 lakh without attending a programme. However, the crime branch has found that she has made no agreement with the complainant.
The crime branch found that no agreement had been made between the complainant and the actress and that the money was deposited in the actress' account by some others. Crime Branch SP Tomy Sebastian said that a further probe is needed in the case and are examining everything in detail.
Sunny Leone had only verbally said that she would attend the event. The complainant has not handed over the money directly to the actress. Some others deposited money in her account. The Crime Branch SP said that none of them had lodged a complaint alleging fraud. He said that he would find out why the stage show fixed was not held.
Meantime, the investigation team is also examining whether the cheating case against Sunny Leone will last. The investigating team has recorded the statements of both the parties in detail. The high court had the other day stayed the arrest of Sunny Leone, her husband and their employee in a fraud case. The court stopped her arrest considering her anticipatory bail plea filed. The high court had asserted that they could be questioned by giving prior notice if required.
