KOTTAYAM: The Kerala Congress Jose faction is all set to stake a claim for 15 seats when seat discussions begin in the LDF. Chairman Jose K Mani will contest in Pala itself. The Kerala Congress will also contest in Kanjirapally seat of the CPI in Kottayam. Though the Left Front has not started seat-sharing talks, the Kerala Congress has already reached some agreements with the LDF.

Although Jose is claiming for fifteen seats, he hopes to get at least twelve seats. At the time he joined the front he was assured the Pala seat. Apart from Pala, the Kerala Congress is demanding Kanjirapally, Kaduthuruthy, Poonjar and Changanassery seats in Kottayam.

The Ettumanoor seat contested by the Kerala Congress while in UDF will be given to CPM. If Poonjar has to be replaced with Kanjirapally which is in the hands of the CPI, the Kerala Congress will lose one more seat. Idukki contested by Roshy Augustine, Perumbavoor or Piravom in Ernakulam and Ranni in Pathanamthitta are the other seats expecting.

In Malabar, their eyes are on Peravoor, Irikkur, Perampra and Thiruvambadi seats. They are likely to get two seats. There is also an understanding to give seats including Thodupuzha which are not likely to win to complete the number. Job Michael is being considered in Changanassery. The LDF is considering Democratic Kerala Congress’ K C Joseph here.
