KOTTAYAM: Pala MLA Mani C Kappan will leave the LDF. As per reports, the NCP will remain in the LDF and Kappan will leave the front alone. The party's national president has objected to the NCP leaving the front. There are indications that Pawar has decided to stay in the Left Front on the assumption that it is more necessary to establish ties with the Left Front at the national level than with the Congress.

Mani C Kappan had earlier hinted about UDF entry. Kappan had told the media about leaving the LDF and becoming a constituent party of the UDF. He also said about being hopeful that the national leadership would stand by him. But the NCP is expected to remain in the left while the Pala MLA exits the front alone.

At the same time, Minister AK Saseendran had said that he would remain in the LDF and urged Kappan not go to the UDF. The party's central leadership was in confusion when Kappan said that he would leave the front if Pala seat was not given and Sasseendran asserted that he would be with the LDF even if Kappan leaves and the party is not given the Pala seat.
