KANNUR: CPM state secretary A Vijayaraghavan has said that Sabarimala will not be an important issue in the upcoming assembly polls. “If the Supreme Court issues verdict then the government will implement it. Question of whether the government is with believers is irrelevant,” said A Vijayaraghavan.
“Let the court take a decision on the issue before it. Let’s wait till then. It is the government which should decide how to implement the verdict. No more explanations are needed on the issue,” he said.
As a party, we have no issues with NCP. We have good relations with them and it is the party’s, not an individual’s opinion that matters,” he said signalling Kappan’s exit from LDF. The CPM leader also said that the current political issues will be discussed in the development procession.
Vijayaraghavan also justified the stand taken by ministers on the protest conducted by PSC job seekers. “There is nothing that the government can do. The demands of the protestors cannot be resolved. Right to protest is an essential privilege in a democratic setup,” he added.
