THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 2884 COVID-19 cases on Monday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 2651 persons developed the disease through contact including 165 cases without an identified source of infection. 44 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 24 health workers contracted the disease on Monday.

5073 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 61,281 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 13 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 3998.

In the last 24 hours, 39,463 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 7.31.

With the removal of 32 regions, there are 428 hotspots in the state.
