KOCHI: The Nationalist Congress Party has officially expelled Pala MLA Mani C Kappan from the party. Party's permanent secretary SR Kohli informed that it was NCP national president Sharad Pawar who decided to expel Kappan after the latter was found involved in anti-party activities.

It must be noted that the names of other leaders were not mentioned in the press release. Earlier, NCP state leaders like Salim P Mathew, Zulfikar Mayuri and Babu Karthikeyan had extended their support to Mani C Kappan by sending their resignation letters to Sharad Pawar.
