THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Solar case accused Saritha Nair has filed a petition in the High Court to direct the Magistrate Court to consider the bail petition related to the solar case on the same day of filing the plea. She said she is being treated for cancer and needs to consider his bail application in light of Covid circumstance as well.

The Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate's Court, which had issued a non-bailable warrant against her, is hearing the case on February 25 and she wants the bail plea to be heard on the same day. The petition will be heard next week by Justice VG Arun.

The Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate's Court had directed the second accused Saritha to appear before it on February 11 in the case of embezzling Rs 40 lakh by promising to set up a solar plant. The petition says that she applied for leave through his lawyer but this was rejected and an arrest warrant was issued. The doctor's note from Sree Chitra Medical Institute, Thiruvananthapuram was also produced. However, the court spokesman said it was clear from the doctor's note that the problem was neuro-related. Saritha's lawyer also said that she has a condition that needs chemotherapy and the court decided to consider to hear the case.
