THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday said that the very same person who made PSC job seekers fall on his feet should have actually fallen on their feet for scuttling many appointments during his tenure. He was referring to the incident in which some of the protesting PSC rank holders fell on the feet of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in front of the Secretariat.

The other day I saw some youngsters falling on the feet of a person. Actually, that same person should have fallen on the feets of those youngsters for scuttling many appointments during his tenure. He must seek their forgiveness. In fact, he is the one who should crawl on his knees for causing suffering to many youngsters," the CM said.

"When was the rank list for uniformed forces reduced from three years to one year? Who was the Home Minister who wrote a letter to the then PSC Chairman in June 2014? Based on whose decision the NJD (No Candidates) vacancies could not be reported?," the CM asked.

It is a matter of serious concern that the indefinite extension of the rank list will eliminate the opportunities of millions of job seekers. It is the policy of the government to conduct regular examinations, accurately report vacancies and thereby provide opportunities for all. Motivating poor job seekers to strike in a dangerous way is a dangerous game for any opposition. Young people need to be able to recognize that, he added.

The first priority of the government is to create the conditions for the people here to work and live here. The society should recognize the way in which the sentiment of the candidates is being used by some people for political purposes, he added.
