THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPO rank holders have warned the government that they will change the mode and style of the protests if the government is not addressing their grievances. On Tuesday, the chief minister has said that the validity of the CPO rank list which ended on June 2020 will not be extended further. The job seekers have decided to intensify their protests following this.

“When the government said that CPO rank lists cannot be extended every rank holder’s blood was boiled up. Therefore the form and mode of protests will change in the subsequent days. In all these days, we protested by kneeling on the roads. Whenever the government is ignoring us, our energy to protest is increasing. We are receiving wholehearted support from every corner of society. In such a situation we will never give up. Therefore from today onwards, the model of protest will change. Some are staging a hunger strike. Nobody from the government has visited them,” Shiyas, a job seeker said.

The CPO list which was freezed on the ground of involvement of accused persons in University college murder case, also witnessed lower appointments due to the pandemic’s impact. Therefore the rank holders have asked the government to extend the validity of the lists. Airing this demand, the job seekers are conducting their protests since last week.
