THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena reminded that action will be taken against officials supporting bogus voting in the elections. The officials will be suspended if they behaved in a partisan manner and prosecution proceedings will be taken, the officer said.

A videographer and security officials will accompany the team carrying postal ballots. He praised presiding officer K M Sreekumar for reacting against bogus voting in Kasargod. Sreekumar had alleged in a Facebook post that he was threatened by Uduma MLA K Kunhiraman and CPM activists when he attempted to stop vote fraud during local body polls. The MLA had threatened to chop off his leg if he refused to heed to the CPM leaders’ orders in the presence of policemen.
