KOLLAM: Fisheries Minister J Mercykutty Amma said opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has lost his mental balance in recent times. She said this while replying to his allegation that permission was given to an American Company for fishing on the coast of Kerala. It has become the habit of the opposition leader to blabber something. He mentioned corruption of Rs 5,000 crore.

The allegations are totally baseless. I have visited USA. I went there for talks with students called by the UN. I was there for three days. No other talks were held there, she said.

Things are going according to the fisheries policy. The opposition leader is eager to explode something or the other. This will not work on Kerala soil. If he is planning to mislead the fishermen, he will not succeed in it, she said.

There is no pact with EMCC. No such application has come before the department of fisheries. I don’t have to reply for it when there is no such thing. There is no need to talk at things which have not happened. He is simply levelling baseless allegations. He has no other job. He is creating anxiety at the time of drowning, she said.
