THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 4070 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 3704 persons developed the disease through contact including 269 cases without an identified source of infection. 68 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 29 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

4345 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 58,313 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 15 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 4089.

In the last 24 hours, 57,241 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 7.11.

With the addition of 8 new regions and the removal of 2, there are 372 hotspots in the state.
