CHATHANNOOR: An elderly woman collapsed and died after seeing her daughter getting injured during an argument between her children and a neighbour. The deceased has been identified as Vijnanavally(75), wife of Chathannoor native Raghunathan. The incident took place at around 4 pm on Sunday.

According to police, a fight broke out between Vijnanavally's children and their neighbour Ratheesh after the latter entered their premises. Anitha, Vijnanavally's daughter, got injured during the fight. Upon seeing this, Vijnanavally collapsed and though she was rushed to the hospital, she was soon pronounced dead. The body is currently kept at the mortuary of Parippally Medical College. Ratheesh was taken into custody by the Chathannoor police.
