ALAPPUZHA: A woman who was abducted from Mannar has been found safe. The group who kidnapped the woman dropped her at Wadakkancherry in Palakkad. A 15-member team abducted Bindu of Kurattikadu at 2 am early morning. A gold smuggling team is suspected to be behind the incident.

Police is of the stand that Bindu has connections with the gold smuggling. Solid evidences have been obtained to prove it. The police has found that Bindu working as an accountant in a supermarket in Qatar has reached Kerala many times in a short span of time. This was found true while checking her passport. Bindu who reached Kerala last month later flew to Dubai and then returned to Kerala on February 19. With this, the suspicion that Bindu is involved in gold smuggling has strengthened.

The 15-member team who reached her house with deadly weapons rung the calling bell. When the door was not opened, they opened the back door and got inside. They then chained her hands and legs, stuffed cloth in her mouth and then kidnapped her. The inmates of the house told police that when they tried to oppose, they threatened them with weapons.

Her relatives told police that the team was from Koduvally in Kozhikode. They also told police that they saw some strangers near their house in a suspicious manner after knowing that Bindu has reached home. The pictures of them and her phone have been handed over to the police. The police hinted of obtaining information about the team.
