THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 2212 COVID-19 cases on Monday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 1987 persons developed the disease through contact including 169 cases without an identified source of infection. 34 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 22 health workers contracted the disease on Monday.

5037 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 55,468 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 16 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 4105.

In the last 24 hours, 38,103 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 5.81.
