THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SSLC and Plus Two annual examinations may be postponed in the wake of the Assembly elections. The exams, which will start on March 17, will end towards the end of this month. The election will take place on April 6. As teachers have election-related work, children may not be able to get adequate study assistance.

The KSTA, the ruling teachers' union, submitted a letter to the government asking it to conduct the examination after the elections. . Opposition teachers' union KPSTA also demanded that the examination be postponed. Booths should be set up in schools. Election preparations can affect the learning of the children who are already finding it difficult to study due to the extremely hot weather. Though model exams have commenced, teachers said that students were unable to make adequate preparations.
