THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state wide dawn to dusk motor strike called by the Kerala Motor Vyavasaya Samrakshana Samithi in protest against the frequent hike in the price of petroleum products and cooking gas began Tuesday morning. All trade unions except BMS are taking part in the strike.
Autos, taxi, light vehicles, goods vehicles and private bus will remain off the road. Milk, paper, ambulance, vehicles related to elections and marriage have been exempted from the strike.
The Vyapari Vyvavasaya association had informed to morally support the strike but would keep shops open. SSLC and plus two model exams and university exams have been postponed due to the strike.
