KOZHIKODE: The UDF Balussery constituency committee has said that actor Dharmajan Bolgatty cannot be accepted as a candidate. The constituency committee has made this clear to the state leadership through a letter. The opposition against Dharmajan came at a meeting held yesterday.

In a letter to the KPCC president, the constituency committee expressed concern that Dharmajan's candidature in Balussery would weaken the UDF. The committee stated that it would not be beneficial to field the actor as the actress assault case is being widely discussed. At the same time, the constituency committee said that victory is assured if a better candidate is fielded instead of Dharmajan.

Following the hints that Dharmajan would be contesting in Balussery, the actor had started attending various events and interacting with many people in the public sphere.
