KOCHI: Amid the KIIFB row, the Enforcement Directorate is also intervening in the Lavalin case which created a political controversy in Kerala. ED is intervening in the complaint of crime editor TP Nandakumar. Nandakumar was given an ED notice to appear with evidence.

Enforcement notice has been issued to appear on Friday 11 am at the office in Kochi. The ED's action is on a complaint filed in 2006. With the state on the verge of another election, the Lavalin case will lead to new political discussions.

Nandakumar had lodged a complaint in 2006 but the government did not intervene in the case and Nandakumar had personally met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In 2008, the CBI also collected evidence from Nandakumar in connection with the case.

Nandakumar had lodged a complaint with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence 15 years ago. The content of the complaint included tax evasion by some political leaders in Kerala. Nandakumar was issued an ED notice on the 25th of last month.
