vaccination

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said the state now has the lowest Covid transmission rate in the last five months. The state is trying to get the vaccine as fast as possible. There is a campaign in the state against the vaccine.

There is no immediate relief with vaccination. Only about half of those who take the first dose of vaccine will be immunized. In order to get 70 to 80 percent protection from Covid, one should take two doses and wait for 14 days. Therefore, the CM reminded the precautionary measures against the virus should not be compromised after the vaccine was taken. The CM also said that people should be vigilant to take measures to prevent the spread of the disease such as wearing masks, keeping social distance and washing hands with soap.

More than five lakh people in the state have been vaccinated so far. The CM said there were no reports of any serious health problems and there is no need to worry.
