KANNUR: Dheeraj Kumar, who has faced disciplinary action of the party in Kannur, has said that he is going to end his political career. Earlier Dheeraj Kumar has resigned from the sports council over denying candidature to P Jayarajan and following this, the party took disciplinary action against him.

Dheeraj has decided to start some business instead of continuing with his political career. “After party leadership has expelled me, leaders from other parties are contacting me. But, I have decided not to pay attention to such offers.

Dheeraj resigned from the sports council after campaigns were launched on social media platforms against denying election ticket to senior CPM leader in Kannur district P Jayarajan and following his response in the media, the party leadership issued an official declaration which stated that Dheeraj was expelled from the party.

“Denying seat to P Jayarajan will reduce the sheen of the party in Azhikode and Kannur assembly constituencies where the party currently have a marginal majority. I resigned from the sports council inorder to convey the worker’s general feelings to the state leadership. I will not join another party,” he said.

Meanwhile, P Jayarajan has denied the allegation of having links with the ‘P J Army.’ On Saturday, in a Facebook post, he wrote that CPM workers must withdraw from controversies started in his name.
