PALAKKAD: The CPM Palakkad district leadership has opposed the candidature of AK Balan's wife. Dr. The district secretariat and district committees have demanded the removal of Dr PK Jameela. The district committee has said that Jameela's candidature will tarnish the possibilities of other constituencies. The district committee has nominated PP Sumod to replace Jameela. There was a demand to give a suitable seat to Palakkad district secretary CK Rajendran.

Meanwhile, the CPM rejected local opposition and handed over the Kuttiyadi seat to the Kerala Congress(M). In Koyilandy, Kanathil Jameela will be the district panchayat president candidate. Koodaranji panchayat president Linto Joseph will contest in Thiruvambadi. The names were decided at the CPM Kozhikode district secretariat meeting.
