KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said that the Congress has formed an alliance with BJP in Kerala. The Chief Minister made the allegations during the LDF campaign in Dharmadam. While pointing out that the Congress leaders in Pondicherry have moved to the BJP, the CM mocked that even the senior Congress leaders are also supporting this move.
"Amit Shah came to Kerala and made insulting remarks about the state. However, the state Congress did not say anything against it. The Congress sided with Shah when he insulted the state. When Rahul Gandhi came here, he said that the central agencies were not quick enough to investigate cases, including gold smuggling. Both the groups are trying to overthrow the LDF government with one mind," the CM said.
"Amit Shah came here. He is now the Union Home Minister. But did he speak like a Union Home Minister? When you are holding a position, you should speak according to that position. If not, we will have to repeat what was said to Amit Shah in the past," the CM said while responding to Amit Shah's criticism against the state government. He also added that Amit Shah was the embodiment of communalism and is someone who does whatever it takes to cultivate communalism in the country.
'He asked me certain questions yesterday. I would like to remind him that I was not the one who was jailed for kidnapping. Does Amit Shahremember whose name was mentioned in the charge sheet of a fake encounter case, was arrested and then jailed? ''The same person was accused of murder, kidnapping, extortion and illegal surveillance. And on a mysterious death, is he speaking from his own experience?'' the CM asked.
He was referring to Sohrabuddin Sheikh ''fake encounter case'' in which Shah was arrested in July 2010. Shah, who had resigned as Gujarat home minister, was discharged from the case by a CBI court in December, 2014.
Shah had in his speech on Sunday also mentioned about a ''mysterious death related to the gold smuggling case'', to which Vijayan said the matter will be probed if the Home Minister provided more details about such an incident.
