KOCHI: The High Court has barred the regularisation of temporary employees in government-controlled institutions. The court also directed the chief secretary to forward to all departments within three weeks the recommendation not to make temporary employees permanent.

The High Court observed that such regularisations were against the judgment of the Supreme Court Constitutional Bench in the Umadevi case. Earlier, the single bench had ordered the suspension of regularisation in 10 public sector undertakings.
