THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation in the iPhone that Santhosh Eepan handed over to Swapna for the UAE Consulate General is progressing. The customs has obtained information on Bineesh Kodiyeri using the phone for some time. The customs suspect that Bineesh may have used the SIM registered in his mother Vinodini’s name.

The customs suspect that the phone calls on this SIM may have been used by Bineesh. The investigation team have noticed the numbers that were in constant contact with Bineesh.

The customs has decided to issue another notice if Vinodini fails to appear for questioning on Wednesday. The next step will be after Vinodini's answer on how she got the phone. Meantime, the enforcement directorate (ED) has launched a probe related to the iPhone. ED’s Kochi and Bengaluru units are getting ready to record the statement of Vinodini Balakrishnan, wife of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
