THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Another woman police officer has revealed that the Enforcement Directorate officer had forced Swapna Suresh to name the Chief Minister in the gold smuggling case. The woman police officer, Rejimol, gave a statement similar to the one given by Siji Vijayan, another woman police officer. Both of them were on escort duty of Swapna Suresh.
The statement was made before a special inquiry team appointed by the state government to probe the audio message which surfaced claiming to be from Swapna.
The statement came after an affidavit was filed by the Customs in the High Court against the Chief Minister, the Speaker and three other ministers.
According to Rejimol, the ED officer had promised Swapna that she will be made an approver if she mentions the name of the chief minister.
Late on the night of August 13, Swapna was questioned by enforcement officials. ED officials pressurised her to name the CM. Rejimol said that ED DySP Radhakrishnan had asked Swapna to say that the money in the locker was given by Sivasankar and that the money was given to Sivasankar by the chief minister.
