exams

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The election commission is likely to take a decision today or tomorrow in connection with the postponement of SSLC and Plus two exams in the state. The state government had sought the postponement of the SSLC and Plus two examinations.

The government had written to the chief electoral officer seeking postponement of the examinations, scheduled to begin on March 17 citing upcoming assembly elections. Duty for teachers and arrangements for polling in schools, many of which function as polling stations has been cited as the reason for the postponement.

The government’s letter seeking postponement has been sent to the central election commission. The Kerala School Teachers’ Association had earlier demanded postponement of the examinations.

Meantime, steps are being taken in schools in the hope that exams will start on March 17. Preparations are underway for the distribution of hall tickets for plus two exams.
