KANNUR: Berlin Kunjananthan Nair has said that Pinarayi Vijayan is responsible for rejecting candidature to finance minister Thomas Isaac. He also added that it indicates the factionalism in CPM has not ended. In an interview given to a media outlet, he said by denying seats to prominent leaders like G Sudhakaran and P Jayrajan, the party is reducing its anticipated votes share for the upcoming assembly polls.

“When candidates are to be decided the party should pay heed to district committees advice. Nobody will become a candidate without the consent of Pinarayi. As the candidates were appointed from the top, the reaction against it hit the streets. Pinarayi is responsible for sacking Thomas Isaac. It indicates factionalism is still going on in CPM,” he said.

“I am disappointed to see P Jayarajan being ignored from the poll fray. It is not right to sideline a person who has sacrificed his life for the party. Who is behind sidelining P Jayarajan? G Sudhakran is a transparent leader with a proven track record. Even he was also ignored. Isaac is a geat finance minister. I have even told Kodiyeri at least to retain Issac,” the communist ideologue added.

He also said that he is not disappointed with Pinarayi Vijayan not coming to visit him despite expressing interest to meet him and LDF will get another term under Pinarayi Vijayan.
